X10 GSM Home Security Systems

July 17, 2017 By Sozo Staff 2 Comments

Realizing that not everyone has a landline these days, X10.com has modified a number of home security system kits that operate on GSM basis, or by use of a cell phone SIM card. Like all X10 systems, these GSM systems are DIY-friendly, allowing you to quickly and easily install your own system without having to pay hefty installation fees. Since there are no monthly fees associated with X10 security systems, all you need to pay for is your security kit, as well as your cell phone bill! Simply choose the cell phone carrier of your choice, insert the SIM card into the SC1200-GSM X10 Cellular SecuriLINK Security Console with GSM, and you’ll be ready to roll!

The first step is, of course, deciding on your system components. If you have trouble making decisions, don’t worry; any X10 systems are fully expandable, so you can quickly and easily add or subtract items from your original system.

View the current X10 Home Security packages here. Please note that the package deals and the specific components within package deals vary from time to time. Below are some examples of package deals which were available at the time that this article was originally written. If the package deal you desire is not currently available, contact X10.com and see if they can put together a custom X10 Home Security package for you.

X10 GSM Home Security Starter System

The most basic GSM security system offered by X10 is this 8-piece Security Starter System which offers enough protection for an apartment, small home, or detached garage. It includes the following X10 items:

2 Security Window Decals
1 Security Yard Sign
1 KR32A Smart Security Keyfob Remote
1 MS18A Smart Security Motion Detector
2 DS12A Smart Door Window Sensors
1 SC1200-GSM Cellular SecuriLINK Security Console with GSM

X10 GSM 23-Piece MAX Security System

The largest GSM security kit X10 offers is this 23-piece MAX Security System, which includes an impressive number of zones, each of which can be turned off or on from your driveway. The components in the 23-piece system are as follows:

5 Security Window Sticker
1 Security Yard Sign
3, KR32A Smart Security Keyfob Remotes
1 SH624 Security Remote Controls
1 LM465 Lamp Module
2 MS18A X10 Smart Security Motion Detectors
9 DS12A Smart Door/Window Sensors
1 SC1200-GSM Cellular SecuriLINK Security Console with GSM

X10 GSM Mega-Motion Home Security System

Striking a balance between the 8-piece GSM “Starter” system and the 23-piece GSM “MAX” system, this third GSM system includes 14 pieces and, like all X10 security systems, provides 5 layers of protection for your home and its contents.

5 Security Window Stickers
1 Security Yard Sign +$0.00
1 SH624 Security Remote Control
1 LM465 Lamp Module
3 MS18A Smart Security Motion Detector
2 DS12A Smart Door/Window Sensor
1 SC1200-GSM X10 Cellular SecuriLINK Security Console with GSM

Not only can you add individual security components to any of the X10 GSM security systems, but you can also expand it into a combination system that includes home automation features.
