The Penny Pincher Boutique offers a wide selection of designer women’s clothing. Each piece is authenticated and checked for quality, allowing our customers to shop without timidity, confident in our careful screening and selection policies.
As a potential consignor, we realize that working with us could be a little intimidating, but don’t worry — we’ve carefully detailed our consignment policies and precisely what we will and will not accept, in order to help you plan your personalized appointment.
We truly value your cooperation with us, and we realize that without our consignors, we couldn’t do what we do!
Be Informed: Here’s What We Carry
If you’re considering consigning with the Penny Pincher, you’ll need to know the types of items that we accept and sell. But first, let’s define a key term: to “consign” means to offer the items for sale through us, based upon an agreement that we will pay you a percentage of the amount for which they sell. (We do accept certain Chanel and Hermes classic handbags for up-front payment, but any other items are typically sold using a consignment model.) The bulk of those items fall into the category of new, like-new, or gently used women’s clothing. In addition to quality, be sure to check all clothing items to make sure they are made by designers we accept.
Be Timely: Here’s Our Agenda
Due to our sales data and limited floor space, the Penny Pincher Boutique only accepts clothing items we believe to be likely to sell during any given season. However, shoes and clothing will be more carefully considered, based on the time of year.
Here is a general description of what we will accept, based on the month:
• January: Cruise Wear
• February-April: Spring Clothing
• May-June: Summer Clothing
• August-October: Fall Clothing
• November-December: Winter Clothing and Holiday Party Pieces
For more details about the parameters of each of those seasonally acceptable categories, take a look at this page on our website.
Be Advised: Here’s How We Proceed
In addition to our specific requirements regarding categories and seasons, please note that we need to honor our customers’ preferences regarding authenticity and condition. Regarding condition, all items must be free from stains, holes, or other significant signs of wear. In addition, we can accept only items presented in a manner ready for sale. For us, this means clothing should be freshly cleaned and pressed and already hanging. But before you come in with even a single item for us to consider, please be sure to make an appointment.
Time slots are available at your convenience on any day other than Sunday or Thursday. This method allows us to ensure we can offer you our undivided attention and evaluate your items in a timely manner. For your convenience, we will be glad to evaluate home furnishing items prior to an appointment; simply send photos to us via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any questions about our consignment policies or procedures, don’t hesitate to ask! We look forward to working with you.
