Why the 2013 Malibu Is Right for You

June 24, 2012 By Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

With amazing precision, power, and extra perks, the all new 2013 Chevy Malibu offers drivers a uniquely safe and comfortable driving experience. This midsize sedan’s athletic, aerodynamic styling provides an attractive and telling introduction to the inside of this machine.

Precision

What makes the 2013 Malibu handle differently than other models? First, a wider track and stiffer structure provides greater responsiveness. Next, the ZF steering components deliver optimal control, enhanced by the four-wheel antilock disc brakes that ensure stopping precision. Add in hydraulic ride bushings and suspension that’s been calibrated on highways as well as rural roads and testing sites, and the 2013 Malibu offers an amazingly quiet, reliable, and smooth driving and riding experience.

While this kind of handling already helps in avoiding collisions, the Malibu includes additional collision-avoidance measures such as Chevrolet’s StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System, Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert.

Power

The Malibu’s ECOTEC® 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine boasts direct injection and Variable Valve Timing, standard on the LS, LT, and LTZ. Also available is the ECOTEC 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine; both options provide amazing lower-end torque and fuel economy, along with 197 to 259 horsepower to get you wherever you’re going. Unfortunately, this kind of power often takes a toll on the environment, but Chevrolet has equipped the 2013 Malibu with the best in fuel-efficient technology—particularly apparent in the Malibu Eco. The Eco’s eAssist technology allows the powertrain to capture and preserve energy when unneeded, allowing for highway 37 MPG. Regenerative braking also helps by converting power normally lost into electricity, storing it for when it’s needed next and reducing the need to charge the lithium-ion battery.

Perks

While the Malibu’s actual driving and riding experience have been fine-tuned with perfection in view, Chevrolet MyLink technology complements those all-important factors with convenient connectivity that helps you focus on the road. Actions like getting directions, making phone calls and selecting music no longer mean fumbling around and compromising safety. The conveniently positioned 7-inch touchscreen can be easily synced with your mobile phone and controlled by your voice. OnStar® Turn-by-Turn Navigation includes 2-D/3-D maps and comes standard for 6 months; a 3-month trial of SiriusXM NavTGraffic is also included on all 2013 Malibus. The 9-speaker, 250-watt amplified Pioneer sound system will make sure you hear every word, and the OnStar® RemoteLink™ app will give you the option of checking diagnostics, schedule maintenance, and remote start your vehicle remotely. Your MyLink® is also enabled with Bluetooth® wireless technology, and the screen will connect with your Rear vision camera.

As you look ahead at the needs of tomorrow, the 2013 Malibu is already poised to handle whatever road you choose to take. The precision, power, and perks it offers will undoubtedly help you arrive at your destination in comfort and safety.
