The Myth, the Legend, the 2013 Camaro

December 24, 2012 By Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Can you hear it, now? The ZL1-inspired dual-mode exhaust of the Camaro SS provides an adrenaline-pumping sign that the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro lives up to the longstanding reputation for high-caliber performance. That aggressive sound you hear as the machine idles isn’t just a teaser — it’s a complement to high engine speeds, while quieting during cruising for driver and passenger comfort unlike many aftermarket exhausts. Starting at only $23,345, this amazing, race-worthy legend is affordably priced, with a build-your-own option to give you a truly custom vehicle.

First Place in Safety

Not only will your Camaro’s sound and speed impress your fellow drivers, but its safety ratings make it a responsible choice, as well. The 2013 Camaro is the first in its class to receive a 5-star score in each segment of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program. Included in the evaluation are the carefully engineered protective measures designed for before, during, and after a collision. With antilock brakes and the Stabilitrak® Electronic Stability Control System and Traction Control, control is maximized, even at high speeds. Steering input is carefully compared to the vehicle response, maximizing the probability of making effective emergency maneuvers. In the case of an unavoidable collision, the ultra-strength steel safety cage and six air bags help protect drivers and passengers. After such an unfortunate event, OnStar Automated Crash Response automatically connects those in the vehicle to emergency assistance.

A Trophy of Responsibility

While the 2013 Camaro boasts the same race-worthy styling and performance as its predecessors, it also lives up to today’s standards of environmental responsibility. Chevy’s “Ecologic” features have all been audited by an independent third party called Two Tomorrows. These environmentally conscious features include a constantly developing responsible manufacturing process and fuel-saving technologies. Produced in landfill-free engine facilities, you can be assured that today’s Camaros don’t create extra waste. Instead, Chevy’s commitment to converting and recycling waste and converting it into energy actually helps some of our engine-air deflectors to be manufactured with over 99% recycled content. Used tires, landfill gas, and wildlife habitats provide helpful ecological benefits, all while production of the 2013 Camaro is expertly completed by American workers.

Fuel economy and low emissions levels are expertly achieved in models that include the 3.6L V6 engine and the Continuously Variable Valve Timing (VVT). Direct Injection of fuel into the combustion chamber provides carefully adjusted airflow into and out of the combustion chamber, depending on engine speed, providing more efficient fuel use. The 62L V8 engine includes an electric motor to power the steering, providing the engine with a lighter, more efficient workload. The fuel delivery to 4 cylinders during highway cruising and other light-load conditions improves fuel economy, as well.

While historically, the Camaro has traditionally beat out the competition when it comes to design and performance features, the 2013 model boasts additional safety and sustainability features that make it a legend in its own rite.
