Our first article in this two-part series on the WM 100 X10 WiFi Unit can serve as an introduction to this exciting option. In this article, we’ll pick up where the first left off and explain how the X10 WiFi Unit works and how to set the device up once you’ve purchased it. We’ll finish up by listing some of the device’s best features.

How the X10 WiFi Unit Works

The X10 WiFi unit’s HUB is designed to remotely communicate with your property’s WiFi router. It works wirelessly, so you can simply plug it into the outlet of your choice, as long as that outlet is within 100 feet of the WiFi router. You can’t get much simpler than that!

Set Up is a Cinch

If you sometimes have difficulty setting up new electronic devices, you’re not alone. Fortunately, setting up the X10 WiFi unit is a breeze. Ease of use for customers is one of X10’s specialties. They strive to make their devices as easy to set up and use without professional help as possible.

You just download the “X10 WiFi” app onto your device. It can be found in either the Apple app store or on Google. Once you download the app, it will walk you step by step through the setup process. First, the onscreen tutorial will instruct you to connect the device to your router, and then begin to add your choice of X10 modules. It doesn’t matter if your X10 modules are older models. They are still compatible with the X10 WiFi HUB!
