Great Ideas for Enhancing Your Backyard Pool Oasis

March 21, 2019 By Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Spring is finally almost here! It’s that time of year when pool owners start to eagerly anticipate opening their pools up once again. It’s almost time for backyard pool parties, making memories with family and friends, or taking that relaxing dip after work. If you’re like many pool owners, you probably can’t wait until it’s time to dive into summertime fun!

Make Sure You’re Prepared for Your Pool’s Opening Day

Whatever shape or size your backyard pool may be, getting it ready for swimming season is usually a big chore. There are so many things on your to-do list when it comes to seasonal preparation, such as set up, clean up, and starting to get back on track with your regular maintenance schedule. Making sure all the boxes are checked on your yearly pool opening checklist should be priority number one for a pool owner.

Add Some Pizzazz to Your Backyard Pool!

After taking care of these mundane but necessary tasks, there’s still more you can do to make sure you’re ready for your pool’s opening day. You can explore some of the creative ways we’ve discovered for pool owners to liven up their pools for a new, exciting season. That’s the purpose of this article series. We’re going to take an in-depth look at how you can enhance your swimming pool to make it even more enjoyable. Are you ready to take the plunge into even more fun this summer? This series may give you some of the ideas you’ve been hoping to find!

Slide Into Summertime Fun

Almost nothing will thrill your kids or grandchildren more than adding a water slide to your pool. You can go with a simple, conventional slide design, or you can choose a fancy spiral tube slide. Rather than fighting over pool toys and floats, the youngsters can stay happy for hours climbing up the slide ladder and careening into the water. You’ll get to relax and watch them while you sip your lemonade. Or perhaps you can get in on all the action yourself. Adults love to slide into the pool too!

Slide Safety Tips

If you do decide to add a slide to your pool, make sure to install it according to the manufacturer’s instructions or hire a professional to put it in. You always want to keep everyone as safe as possible around the pool. Also, make sure to establish some clear rules for using the slide, such as only one person being allowed on the slide at a time and allowing plenty of time for sliders to swim away from the bottom of the slide before the person behind them is permitted to take their turn sliding.

Of course, make sure no one is allowed to climb up the slide itself! Any kid who has been to a school playground should be familiar with slide safety rules, but reminding guests of proper slide behavior or even posting the rules in a prominent location is a smart idea.

Other than slides there are several ways you can take your pool to the next level. Check out the rest of the articles in this series (see Part 2) to find out how you can make your backyard pool even more of a hit this summer season.
