Extreme Custom Floors: The Perfect Marriage

Sometimes opposites attract, and other times they clash, don’t they? For every dependable, hardworking husband, there’s a passionate, impulsive woman. While together they might find all the necessary ingredients to a full life, there’s bound to be some friction in the mix. When it comes to wood floors, though, Rehmeyer has become the ultimate match-maker, combining quality boards and reliable workmanship with exotic species and avant-garde arrangements.

The Intrigue of the Extreme

We can all fall into a rut at times, whether it’s with our routines, our diets, or even our décor. Perhaps even the enthusiasm of the world’s greatest artist couldn’t convince you to redesign your home with bright or unusual color combinations, but by using unusual wood species, you can make a statement that won’t go out of style.

Your Rehmeyer Extreme Custom Wood Floor can be as unique as you decide. The drama may come from the species or the size of boards, the arrangement or the contrasting colors. Species range from Ofram to Extreme Wide Plank White Oak, Dramatic Red Ash to Pin-Striped Walnut with Hard Maple Feature Strips. Have another species in mind? Ask us about it! As long as we can source it, we’d love to come up with a custom floor that’s milled and handcrafted just for you!

Sometimes our customers want to integrate reclaimed lumber into their floor, and we can go that direction, too. If you have a barn that’s been in the family for over a century, we can probably use some of that wood as part of your Extreme Custom Wood Floor.

In 2014, one of our Extreme Custom Wood Floors was included in the “Best of Show” home for the Pennsylvania Street of Dreams Builder’s Showcase. With so many possibilities out there, Farinelli Construction’s use of our flooring speaks volumes about its unusual beauty.

The Comfort of Reliability

Even amid his grand adventures, the comfort-loving Bilbo Baggins wished he were in front of his fireplace, sipping on tea. There’s a bit of Hobbit in each of us, isn’t there? We find solace in the predictable, stable, dependable rhythms, people, and places in our lives. If we had to abandon any sense of safety and security in favor of adventure, some of us would, but others of us undoubtedly would not. With Rehemeyer Extreme Custom Wood Floors, you don’t have to make that choice.

The dramatic stylistic statement is not without stability. Here at Reymeyer, we specialize in Wide Plank Wood Floors, so we know stability is important. We make all our boards ¾” thick, with an 11-ply Baltic Birch core, providing superior stability. Our engineered floors have a 3/16” layer to provide enough margin for any Scraping, Distressing, or Mortising for our Hand-Shaped decorative pegs. All those custom finishing techniques provide added beauty — but would be impossible without a stable foundation.
