If you’re buying furniture for your son or daughter, you could purchase furniture that is distinctively masculine or feminine. But you may want more flexibility — the ability to repurpose a boy’s bedroom furniture for a girl or vice versa. Consider bedroom collections that, while still attractive, can be used for a boy or a girl.
The following are popular children’s bedroom collections which are featured at The Bedroom Source furniture showroom, located at Carle Place on Long Island.
Contemporary Collection
The Contemporary Collection provides a variety of pieces for a child’s bedroom. Beds come in white, natural wood, and dark wood. You can get a twin or full bed; you can also choose a single bed with or without underbed storage.
This collection also provides multiple bunk bed options, also in white and wood colors. Bunk beds have either a slanted ladder or stairs and can even include underbed storage. This collection also includes a dresser and chests with or without mirrors. You can also choose between two bookcases and get a nightstand.
Valley Collection
The Valley Collection presents a smaller, but still attractive, group of furniture. Color choices include white, two medium shades of wood, and a dark wood. Underbed drawers are available in some of the beds, and the bunk bed comes with a staircase!
Storage options include a dresser with a mirror, bookcases, chests, and a nightstand. For kids in school, the desk and hutch offer a great place for doing homework.
Cottage Collection
Just like its name, the Cottage Collection has a simple, homey look. Colors include white and different shades of wood — light, medium, and dark. Some beds come in twin or full sizes, and, as with the other collections, you can get underbed storage with some beds.
For bunk beds, you can choose among several styles; most include a slanted ladder for accessing the top bunk, while one has a staircase.
Other furniture choices include bookcases, a dresser and chests with and without mirrors. You can also get a nightstand and a desk with a hutch — whatever works for your child!
Utica Lofts by Berg Furniture
Utica Lofts include a fun variety of bunk beds and lofts for those who need multiple beds or compact bedroom furniture, and you can pick and choose what you want for your setup. Color choices include white, light wood, and dark wood. Each bunk bed comes with a staircase. The steps in the staircase actually double as drawers, and the side of the staircase contains shelves. One bunk has a traditional lower bunk, and that lower bunk can come with an underbed trundle or storage.
Some other options have a lower bunk bed that can be placed perpendicular to the upper bunk; these lower bunks include shelves and drawers for storage. You can even get a bunk bed with three beds! There’s also the loft bed option, which can come with a desk underneath. For storage, this collection includes chests and dressers, and the dressers can come with a mirror. There’s also a nightstand and bookcase, and for a desk, you can get a small desk and hutch or a large one.
