Death, Taxes and Paratransit Businesses

October 11, 2011 By Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Very few things are stable in this life. Death and taxes may be touted as the most stable of all. Ever thought about adding paratransit businesses to the list? Health care is one of the few industries that cannot become obsolete. Thus, the paratransit, ambulance and non-emergency medical transportation will not either. Due to the retirement of the Baby Boomer generation and new technologies, the services of the paratransit industry will not only be certain but also in higher demand then ever.

An aging population is upon the American paratransit industry. Baby Boomers are reaching retirement and spending more money on medical costs then any other age group previous. The health care industry will have to accommodate millions of rapidly aging individuals in the next decade alone. These people are smart because they are aware, they will take advantage of the new technologies and live longer because of it. Providing Baby Boomers with transportation outside of emergency needs will be crucial in their individual pursuits of happiness.

Transportation to and from doctors offices and the hospital has become a viable business niche in a sputtering economy but like any business paratransit will not run itself. Before buying a paratransit business, any savvy individual would look at the market trends and shop around. Owning one does not require health care training or medical skill but it does involve business knowledge. Employing the help of an industry broker and acquiring an independent business valuation for the business in question are two steps toward success. Any investment will be successful when observing these key steps with care and precision.
