Corvette Stingray 2014 – Grade A, All the Way

March 25, 2013 By Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Aerodynamics, adaptability, authenticity — the 2014 Corvette Stingray is grade A, all the way. While many features continue the tradition for which the Corvette has become legendary, others are completely new to the 2014 model.

Aerodynamics

The exterior of the 2014 Corvette boasts well-sculpted, streamlined styling that contribute to more than just a trendy look. Aspects such as a removable roof and hood crafted of carbon fiber contribute to the 2014 model’s lower center of gravity, leading to optimum performance. The lightest and stiffest Corvette to date, the precision engineering of the 2014 model includes an aluminum space frame. Both the coupe and the convertible are making history in 2014 by sharing an identical frame structure. Lightweight materials and groundbreaking chassis increase the vehicle’s rigidity, leading to increased performance and reduced noise. Exterior vents provide increased downforce and advanced front-to-back ventilation for the completely balanced powertrain, redesigned this year for optimal racing balance.

The new powertrain include a 6.2L LT1 V8 engine that can go 0-60 in under 4 seconds. With 450 horsepower and 450-lb.-ft. of torque, this powerful machine requires precision handling in order to achieve its full potential. The transaxle layout provides ideal weight balance, while the compact engine design helps lower the center of gravity. Add to that the option of a dry-sump oil system with g-force cornering and a 7-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Matching, and you have some amazingly advanced technology under the hood.

Adaptability

From the cockpit of your newly designed 2014 Corvette Stingray, you can attain a fully customized driving experienced. With 5 selectable driver modes, you can customize performance for any road, mood, or situation at the turn of a dial, especially if you opt for Z51 Performance Package with Performance Traction Management:

• Feel of steering
• Appearance of cluster display
• Characteristics of available Magnetic Selective Ride Control ™
• Torque reduction
• Brake intervention.

These innovative features allow the savvy driver to choose exactly the kind of driving experience to have today on the way to work and then change it up tonight out on the town and again tomorrow morning at the track.

Authenticity

The 2014 Corvette Stingray is the real deal, inside and outside, from its premium tires to its revolutionary hood. The materials and premium features can increase the confidence of even the most discriminating drivers, and passengers. Adaptive steering and enhanced responsiveness are just the beginning. Additional performance features include these:

• Michelin ® Pilot ® Super Sport Zero Pressure tires (developed exclusively for the Corvette to optimize grip and handling)
• Brembo ® brakes (providing ideal stopping power)
• Electronic Limited Slip Differential to promote increased stability and responsiveness)
• Third Generation Magnetic Ride Technology (for stiffened suspension and minimized movement).

Like the performance-related materials, interior provisions are high-quality and authentic, as well. From real aluminum framing to carbon fiber hood, everything is grade A. Real, hand-chosen, hand-stitched leather rounds out the equation, ensuring that the 2014 Corvette Stingray will meet this generation’s high standards of quality and class.
