Adjusting Your Lighting with Home Automation

June 17, 2008 By Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

All of us have different reasons for wanting to cast a softer light in our homes. At The Home Automation Store we offer a variety of affordable options that allow you to dim lights in any room in your home.

Take for example the INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer Switch  (2476D) that offers you the ability to personalize the lighting in any room in your home. You can also find the Insteon 2476D unit helpful for those nights when it’s particularly dark in your home and you’re trying to get around since this unit comes with a remote control. If you’ve gotten into bed without turning the light off and you are using the convenient bedside controller you can turn your lights off right from your bed and if you’re concerned about walking into a dark home you can set the compatible timer to turn your lights on at a specific time or at sunset.

For those who are interested in the flexibility of a switch versus a circular dimmer switch you might select the INSTEON ToggleLinc Dimmer – White (2466DW) which allows you the same look as a regular switch. This elegant switch installs easily in minutes and creates the lighting effects you are looking for. This unit is also compatible with the bedside options, it’s easy to install and also offers the additional benefit of not losing your dimmer switch programming during power losses which can be a big benefit in areas where we are subjected to weather related power outages.

If you’d like to control all of your lights that have dimmer capabilities from one location in your home you can select the INSTEON KeypadLinc V2 Dimmer (2486D) which allows you to install the switch near your front door and you can quickly see which lights are on and which ones are off when you’re on your way out or when you’re entering a dark home and want to throw a light on into rooms you’re going into.

Another advantage of these light controllers is that you can turn lights on, off, you can brighten and dim them and if you’ve installed one of these controllers it’s easy to see if one of your children has gotten up in the middle of the night.

For those who have non-dimmer lights in their home or lights that can’t be dimmed (such as fluorescents) you can elect to install the INSTEON In-LineLinc Relay – Non-dimming (2475S) which is easy to install, allows you to place in areas where there are no other switches or it can be linked to other systems to allow you to link all of the lights in your home in one convenient area making it easy to shut off or turn lights on from anywhere in your home.

At The Home Automation Store we want to bring you the most affordable, easy to use products for your home that not only offers you convenience but safety features as well. We are a proud to offer a variety of top quality products and our lowest price guarantee.
